^ Thanks! :D. That bumper will be gone soon.

Bought and installed this today - Rare OEM optional under-dash (floor well) lights. They emit a green glow on both the driver's and passenger's side whenever the door is open, and stay on for about 10-seconds when the door is shut, then fade out. It had it's own control box just like the key light:

^ Those grilles are tough to find. Give it another few years and there will be more in the wreckers/junkyards, haha.

As for the second photo, that's a standard SE Limited bumper that has been modified ;)

Just finished installing this - A rare OEM armrest extender (optional extra). It's covered in velour fabric with two slide out compartments either end and still allows you to use the twin storage compartments underneath. It's actually navy blue in colour (the same as my seats) but the flash of the camera made it appear grey. The first two photos are from the original sales brochures:

I'm also looking forward to seeing some better pics of those floor lights! Like an entire interior shot with some ambient light (and HDR of course lol).

Taking shots of the floor lights is surprisingly tricky. Since it's pitch black the camera can't focus on anything, so what I have to do is position my tripod, set the camera to auto focus, use the flash so that it gains focus on the pedals, close the flash, switch to manual focus without bumping the camera, change the exposure setting to about 30-seconds, put my thumb over my car alarm LED on the dash so it doesn't produce glare and then stand there until the shutter closes, hoping like hell that nobody makes the outdoor garage security light come on, lol.

For the passenger's side it wouldn't focus on anything even when using the flash as there was nothing really there for the camera to use as a guide, lol. So I ended up putting my phone on the passenger's side floor so the camera had an object to focus on, and repeated the process above (except without the phone there of course).

Taking the shots in HDR poses a whole new problem of it's own, as HDR photography tends to produce grain, which is VERY noticeable in darker scenes. Even with the ISO at 100 (the lowest it can go on my camera) grain will still be produced, which is why I needed to take the shots in JPEG. When taking shots of the floor lights I took a total of 33 shots in order to get the 2 I was most happy with :)

^^^ OK, yeah I understood all of that LOL.

But what I meant was not to take pics in pitch black, but right after the sun goes down. When I've tried to get pics of my interior lights, it requires going out and taking pics every 5-10 minutes lol, trying to get the perfect balance between the lights and the ambient light. Pitch black pics never look good.

^ That would work if my lights were bright LED's like that, but the OEM bulbs are very subtle, so it's near impossible to see the light they produce unless it's pitch black, haha. I'll give that a go sometime though and see if I have any luck :)

I must say you took the entire granny style retro front bumper look to a new level of vintage OEM fierceness. In other words, It looks mean enough to pull pussy from all over New Zealand.

Ever think about filling that center gap on the lip to make it completely smooth? for some reason that bothers me especially on the back end of the 10th gen

Hahahaha, crack up bro. Here's hoping that it does pull the pussy. I'll have to start cruising around malls and bus stops [IMG]. Thanks man. Looking forward to seeing your update sometime soon too! :)

I originally wanted the join to be invisible, but my panel beater said that there wasn't much he could do about it, unless I wanted to spend more money and wait another week. It had already been almost two weeks since it was dropped off so I really just wanted to get it finished ASAP. The join doesn't really bother me as it helps to differentiate the lip from the rest of the bumper, but I would like to get it smoothed over someday. There's urethane in the gap at the moment, so I was thinking of building it up a little more with some paint-able silicone, masking everything off and spraying it white. I'm all ears if you've got any ideas though [IMG]

Thanks :). The only 8th Gen Corolla here that had sideskirts was the GT model (4A-GE 20v Blacktop). Finding one of those being wrecked is almost impossible. My sideskirts are slightly lower than those I think. The ones I have on now are aftermarket fibreglass ones. Never seen another pair like them. They were made here in NZ as far as I know, possibly custom. The guy I bought them off never ended up fitting them before selling his Corolla.

Shooter, every car has its focal point and yours is definitively the front end and i freaking love it as much as I love my front end. So that being said, kudos. By far my favorite front end on any either 7/8/8.5 gen.

Edit: I just looked at my front end, I like yours more. FML. Oh well, my poor neglected corolla will hopefully have a new owner by the end of the year.

Noooo you changed your avatar and sig lol I liked that old one. But as for ideas, I as well can not stand the line in the front of the lip, looks even worse on the USDM 10th gen over here, as mentioned above. I would fill in the line, and smooth the lip onto the bumper as well, make it look like one big piece. I find that unnecessary lines such as those draw away from what is good on the car. WHICH IS EVERYTHING ELSE. lol. And you can't complain about it costing too much, you have so much shit (the good kind) on your car that there's no way a fill sand and respray would break you. You were talking about swapping a 20V BT in, if I am not mistaken, and I think that it would be a bit cheaper to do the bumper. Who knows maybe engines are $4 over there, you get everything else for so damn cheap :)

Cheers mate. It was raining today but I couldn't resist opening the garage to stare at the front end for a couple of minutes [IMG]. Sad to hear that you're planning to sell your Corolla :(

Haha, yeah I thought it was time for a change. They may change again in the near future if I can get some good shots of the new set-up. I'm keen to delete the gap in the middle, but I really like the line that separates it from the rest of the bumper. It looks more distinguished like that in my opinion . Money's tight at the moment (believe it or not, lol) so I may have to put the join delete on the back burner for a little while. It's only noticeable up close and can't be seen a few metres away so I'm not too concerned about it right now, but it'll definitely be on my 'to do' list :). Lmao, a 4A-GE BT costs a little bit more than $4 here. From the junkyard they're about $330 NZD ($260 USD) and from a wrecker or engine importer they're about $400-700 NZD ($320-560 USD) depending on the kms etc. To put that into perspective, to get my front bumper and lip painted (including sanding and priming etc) it cost $180 NZD ($145 USD) ;)

The exchange rate is really high right now so it may seem rather high from your side. Before things started going crazy, $180 NZD used to be the equivalent of about $90 USD, so 50c to every US dollar. Now it's 80c to every $1.20 US.

Yeah I have a few sound clips but my iPhone 4 does no justice to how it really sounds when I play it ... And sharpshooter that's really cheap for a bt swap if I had that price over here I would jump on it with out a doubt lmao your crazy specially the fact that you can get parts for it at a junk yard !!! Lol I wish I could do that and buy parts for it at a auto parts
