2AZ-FE or 20v 4age?

    2AZ-FE or 20v 4age?

    Thinking about doing a swap but cant decide if i want to do some custom work and have a newer engine put in 2AZFE or rebuild a 20v Blacktop... Need opinions cant decide

    I suppose the newer engine would be better for the low end torque the 50% more displacement gives you...

    which means less revving up to get you up to speed

    what are you shooting for?
    high revving madness or a cruiser?

    well both ha ha just want it to be a sleeper thats still simple if that makes sense ... but i need to figure out what engine i want soon so i can start it my current is on 216k miles....

    2AZ-FE would be a poor choice if you looking for an engine that makes some higher RPM power. Though their widespread availability could potentially make them more attractive in the future. From lower RPMs, that additional torque would be immediately felt, plus it has shown to have decent power potential (big pool of quickly developing aftermarket for this engine).

    The 7th gen is pretty lightweight, that Blacktop should have more than enough power to move you from lower revs and still give you some flexibility on the higher RPMs. 4AGE has a larger following and strong aftermarket support - though finding clean examples and spare parts availability would be a concern in my mind over the next several years.

    rebuild the blacktop but make the compression 11:5 for higher rpm

    build the 2azfe up by putting higher compression pistons in, as the original one are abot 8:5:1 i think ok for boost but might be weak,
