it sounds like he's just trying to cover his ass and find the easiest soltution that requires him to do the least work. You might as well just put the stock airbox back in if you are going to intentionally restrict a aftermarket intake.

So we found out what we need to do(Or he needs to do) All the SRI and even the Cold air intake made by injen for the 09 Corolla XRS. Right at the MAF, the piping gets restricted. So he is going to try and restrict the piping like the injen and Weapon R SRI

    I will keep everyone updated

Update. So he has ordered a maf adapter kit so the when the air hits the maf it is like it's going through the stock piping. It will be here tomorrow. Hopefully, this will resolve my issue. What does everyone think???

What do you mean by restricted? Smaller piping?

So...how much $$$ do you have into this now?

Still the same amount, I haven't paid any extra

Update. Like the Chat box said. This issue was resolved by using a MAF Adapter which makes the piping around the MAF, stock size. This has fixed all the issues I was having before, including the funny shifting. I did not pay any extra to get this fixed. I am very please with it, the only thing I will need done is to have the peice powder coated, as it is silver right now, and I would like it all black.

    Cost 535 Dollars.

And It does feel different, Sounds different. I feel more power when revving up.
I personally think it was a good investment

And I have gone up in gas milage by 3MPG. I was at 34MPG, and am now sitting around 36.7

makes sense, more power, less need to push the gas pedal, less rpms less gas used...

    that's how I got my 3speed 98 to the rated 25mpg (basically I'm a pure city driver)

Do you drive more fwy or city?

fwy mpg might go up due to less intake restraint but might lose some city mpg.

Mainly Freeway/Hwy miles. It's 20 miles to work, 10 down a freeway at 55mph, no stopping and 10 down the freeway between 55-65, no stopping. So its not a bad drive.
