    Supra returns ?

Yea I think everybody would hope for the grand Old return on the Toyota Supra I liked my coworkers 1997 Supra and that Prick sold it:confused: I would gladly trade the Tundra on a mint Supra like his...

About Toyotas return on the Surpra Toyota did have a concept car called the volta and that was sure hope they would get back into Sport car building but Right Now the only thing close is the Celica/Mr2 and the camry based Solora which look rather fugly on the tail lights...The Celica is allright but it doesnt crave performance Like i would Hope for even the Mini cooper S is something worth driving vs the Toyota sport cars at present it's fun to drive great handling and a wonderfull package at tail of the dragon .. Im disappointed In Toyota sport car's at present Give me something with overall refinement yet have power and at this point borrow a 4.3 liter v8 from Lexus and make Something special happen we can only wish right?

damn, this thread is hella old, 2005!!!

just to let you guys know, Lexus will have their own sports car(LF-A) and Toyota will be coming out with their own sports car(will not be called supra) the supra is dead, toyota does not plan to ressurect the supra, this new car coming out will NOT BE CALLED THE SUPRA! period! it will most likely be a 2008 model

as for the celica, they ARE FAST, the 6th gen(94-99, round headlights) Turboed Celica was not sold in North America, they're called the GT-4 everywhere else, but we did get the 5th gen AWD turboed celica which is extremely hard to find nowadays

I think we're all aware of the GT-Four Celica's, but try and find a 5th gen. in good condition, almost impossible, i've only ever seen one for sale... the 6th gen. GT-Four was never sold here, so its kind of hard for us to get the *fast* celica, and the 7th gen, even the GT-S with the 2ZZ-GE couldn't hang with an RSX-S and they cost about the same (up in Canada anyways), not to mention cars like the SRT-4 which was faster than both of them... so, in conclusion, Celica's ARE NOT THAT FAST... not stock anyways (but that argument can be made for any car)...

the 2zz is legit, you just gotta know how to drive that thing to make it hit high 14s stock, with a power FC and bolt ons, the 2zz can see high 13s all motor, only problem i see is the higher models 2003+? 2zz cant use the FC

mburket, it will not be called the supra, magazines calls it the supra because they dont know what it's called yet, so they call it the supra to attract readers

^you just gotta know how to drive it to hit high 14s, that guy with those timeslips have been to the track about 100 times, yes 100 times, altitude also takes in effect, tire pressure, weather condition, etc etc,...

magnem, that article is old, the recent rumors is said to be a v6 and v8, not v10 ;)

what made the supra good was the pricetag. for 50K you can buy faster cars.

Merged again with the 2008 Supra / New Supra thread.

Also stuck so there should be no more new threads on it. Just post everything in here.

    On topic of the Supra...

Personally, I'd rather go out and spend the $34k on a 2006 Goat than drop $40k+ on a new Supra.

I'll believe it when it comes into production. This supra discussion has been rumored and rumored and articles have been written. but I have yet to see a picture that wasn't drawn or CGI'd.

Plus I just purused through road and track or one fo thsoe and under "Supra" It said not going to happen. Rumors are not true blah blah blah. I don't know how much credability this has, but I for one am sick and tired of getting my hopes up every damn time this thread is revived.

    What a dick tease...
