I might be on that list too. I'm not spending a huge fortune to bid against somebody else.

Forget the car on eBay. My limit was $40 with shipping. Somebody already bid it up past my limit. A plastic model isn't worth more than $40 to me. If anybody else wants it, go for it.

    altezza RS200
    [IMG]
main differences between the altezza rs200 and the is300 model is that its right hand drive, 3s-ge under the hood(instead of the 2jz-ge), sidemarkers, jdm grille, and foglamps...for some reason the is300 model does not have foglamps :?

Good Luck! :D I'd rather spend my money on an intake or something. $50+ is just too much.

the only piece i still have is an original 1977 Revel Goodyear blimp model and a ticket from when i got to ride it(goodyear) back in april of 1991...geez i was 12 years old!

the model still works and everything...its an awsome piece :D

I found a guy in Taiwan on CarDomain that has the Altis gift from toyota, but he says there is a 1/18 scale Altis for NT$1000 which is about $29 US. Maybe he could do a group buy.

Hey count me in....below is a idea, from another post that I wrote in on here, it is regarding Altis rear tail light that would be more suspect than a model car, as it would be a larger package and more $$$ customs would look at it more than a model car, this could be a "gift" shipment, also tariff on a $29 model car would only be $2-3 or so, so no big deal, the taillights on the other post would be more scrutinized...I think the best way would be post office, sent directly to the buyer...see below...

You may be able to do a group buy...

Put out a announcement, make a cut off date and time, and all funds go to your paypal account, before the cut off time, anyone who misses the time would have to wait until the next buy, maybe 2 weeks or 1 month, dont do this too much as you will draw attention from customs.
You withdraw the funds, and send the funds; you would have confirmed money before the order is placed,
Everyone would know up front an estimated time for shipping, again an estimated, and the price,
You as the seller would have all funds ahead of time so you could not get burned,

You would have a record of the buyers addresses via PayPal, and you could email all this to your friends in Taiwan, they could drop ship the part directly to the buyer...probably a best chance to get through customs with out going over the $$ limit and no duty would be owed,

Or if you send all the units to you, you can control domestic shipping, but run the risk of paying tariff on a bulk large order...

also for the domestic shipping, do not use Priority mail, they "suggest" a 3-4 day delivery, but don’t guarantee anything, if it goes 30 days, they say no problem , I said hey 30 days that is lost in space, they said no tracking no loss....

    IMHO...my 2 cents...

you are right, I think you did good, again I would have went higher, not saying I would have won or anything, but I did leave it alone because I knew it was a real collector, and beside the IS200 we both got, I do not realy collect cars,

hey speaking of the IS 200 we both bought, we live in the same general area, and I ordered maybe a 1/2 a hour after you, but have yet to get it, you got yours Fri or Sat??

I'm working on getting information from my Taiwan contact. I'll try ordering one from him to find out the costs, and then we can do the group buy. Just want to be sure he can be trusted. Also the toyota gift version is 1/24 scale where this one is 1/18 scale.

Here is his information from a email between us..:

    Dear Charles

    I just received the money.
I'll give you the newest information for getting car, packing, shipping and the tracing number daily.

The Toyota Corolla Altis is US58 , shipping is about US20, it's refer to where are your country?
And Altis have red & silver colors.
The exterior's quality is the same as other cars, but the interior quality is not as good as Mazda 6 or Mitsubishi Savrin or Ford Metrostar.

    Just for your referance.

By the way, just 10 minutes later, another one ask me to sell my altis to him.
Can you tell me USA have Corolla Altis? what is the car name? why every one love it?
    Nobody love Mazda 6?

    Best regards
    Brian Su

seems like a good guy, his Ebay feedback was spotty, Ebay name: parfum2tw
I guess I will have to trust him, I am paying $58 plus $20 for postage, but if we get a group buy I am trying to work a discount...I will report back when I get it...
