They've said it.. get nitrous. .. like a 65 shot... a nitrious express kit with some useful bells and whistles will probably cost you around 600-1000 .. you'll be making around 150whp when you spray

The Celica that was built by Rod Millen Group, found Here http://www.rodmillen.com/UCelica.htm

Is powered by a 3sgte from the 1988-93 All-Trac. produces 500hp.

here is the paragraph from that site:

To reach the 500 horsepower goal, TRD began work on tuning a four-cylinder production powerplant previously used in the Celica All-Trac (1988-1993). It is a derivative of the power-laden engine used in Toyota’s championship-winning IMSA GTP race cars of the early ‘90s, and Rod Millen’s record-setting Pikes Peak Hill Climb runners. The bore and stroke were increased, a turbocharger installed and Rod Millen Motorsports custom-built a set of headers made out of inconel and a stainless steel exhaust. As a result, the Ultimate Celica produces 500 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and creates 340 lbs.-ft. of torque at 5,500.

uhmm 3sgte swap for 9K... i dunno.... and with 9K he can have a turbo and bullet proof engine getting over 300hp

with a 3sgte swap you have what 200 some hp and then need to do work on that engine which is more $$

I wouldn't have said so, if I hadn't already looked into it. I have talked to ToySport already my man.. Umm...Not much needs to be done to put a 3sgte into the 300 range. It's already stock turbo, and can handle over 300 I think up to 500 on the stock internals. The stock turbo I believe is good up to 400. Up the boost, and call it a day. And if you do the swap yourself, even more cost cutting.

Straight from ToySports website:

3SGTE ST205 w/ WATER TO AIR INTERCOOLER CERAMIC TURBO $2,500.00

3SGTE ST185 w/ AIR TO AIR INTERCOOLER CERAMIC TURBO $1,000.00

3SGTE ST165 w/ WATER TO AIR INTERCOOLER $800.00

These are J-spec. engines. For tranny add about $750 I think. Also the guy suggested buying new piston or piston rings, I can't recall.
Labor if they were to do it would be around 2 or 3k. So, like I was saying 3sgte is more cost effective.

wow why start shit with everyone out here you dont even own a corolla or an engine with vvti for that matter. in fact the car that i drive, a corolla, has greater displacement than your car does. how sad is that, a corolla with more displacement that your car

as for the question at hand, here are some easy ways to boost your Crank hp to 200

lightend pullies set= 300$ roughly
full cat back exhaust= 200$ roughly
header piece= good one with down pipe 200$
cold air intake= 150$ roughly
cams= N/A
cam gears= N/A

to be honest there really is no cheap way to get our cars up to 200, best bet would be by FI which would be around 2500, sorry bro you should probably start out with a car that is already fast if you wanna go 200hp cheap

yo you actually can build your own turbo fool all you need is the actual turbo spool, and have some custom fabricated piping...there is a shit load of people in this world who have custom turbo set-ups. one that i know of on this forum is (crovax) which he spent around 3g's to have someone custom build one for him. his kit (like many other people's) was not "pre-fabricated" so to answer your question you can build your own turbo kit, is it cheaper could be if you know what your doing...i will have some honda people vouch for me on this one cause i know your going to try and flame me

ummm i'm pretty sure that DIY means you do EVERYTHING yourself. so unless you own a machine shop or have some friends who have the right equipment you cant build a turbo kit by yourself.

and wtf is a "turbo spool"

if you have all the parts you can infact install a turbo YOURSELF, hence DIY 200hp the thread name. i was merely stating that it is cheaper to go with a custom set-up and to do it yourself rather than to buy a fabricated kit...technically speaking if he owned a machine shop he could do it himself...also a header DIY does that mean because he didnt make the header that technically it shouldnt be concidered a DIY part?

I agree. I wouldn't say I have a large knowledge of cars but these "how can i get a easy 200hp" threads are ridiculous.
