see...when salesmen allow you to abuse the brand new cars on the lot, that's bad too...so i don't see how that makes them good salespeople, since someone's going to buy that car, and they probably let everyone abuse it.

i dunno...the dealership where we got my car was full of idiots. the dude who SOLD us the car was a dumbass...and kept trying to tell me the 6-speaker sound system(4 speaker, thankyou) was awesome, as was the ABS(NO ABS!). the dude was an idiot.

I love my 02S and its look and profile compared to the 03. The 03 feels bulky and too high. When I had one as a rental, I didn't like the responsiveness. I have to respect the available SC though from TRD. If a supercharger is at all on the horizon for you, then clearly the 03 is the choice for you.

well this probably wont help you because i dont really know which one i would chose. I have a 2000 and i think it is beautiful...and i also think a 2002 s is so much more beautiful mainly because of the newer front end and the lip kit on it. But the 2003 s is also quite stunning but i think it does have a more bubbly friendlier appeal to it. so you really need to decide do you want a lower, smaller, tougher look....or a bigger, still sporty but funnier and also quicker car. its gonna be a tough decision. oh and they both look alot better with the right wheels.

To me 02's look better, but the performance of the 03's is a lil better. My 01 I/E with a manual is the same speed on the highway as an 04 auto stock.

I would just get the )03 + becuase they have much better performance stuff out for it than the earlier models. I have a 99 corolla, I love that car. runs great but to hook up, it's not the greatest.

03, and get a s/c for it. or you can get a tC and get the s/c for that. it might be cheaper (depending on the options you're getting), but the tC is heavier i think.

I have to aggree that with my 32 inch inseam my '01 is a little lacking in legroom. I wish I had just one more notch back in my seat adjustment. Besides that there is plenty of room. I am 6'2" and have plenty of headroom in my '01. One of my planned mods is seats, and they will be put in so that they are a bit lower and farther back.

I think the 03+ is probably a better car over all than the previous gen.

However I am biased towards the 00-02 Corollas. They sit a bit lower and turn tighter. They are smaller and lighter over all and IMO are sleaker looking.

Your information is spot-on as always. Toyota always improves their products, especially the engines, just look at the development of the V6 in the Camry.
But here's my thing. I personally don't like the asthetics of the Toyotas that keep getting larger. It can only go so far. The current Corolla is as big as a gen 2 camry and the current camry is as big as a fucking boat, now they are making the Corolla bigger?? It has always been a compact car, now it's moving up to midsized after the Camry went from mid to huge. I learned to drive on a Gen2 Camry, but I think after the 3rd gen ended in 96, they got to big. I like the 02 Corollas best, but I also like the new ones a lot. But if they make it even bigger, it's just getting out of hand.

If you have the money and want power then get an 05 XRS or a low-mile 03 and Superharge it. Those options aren't available on an 02 but then again with the money you save you could get an SF turbo kit with all the extras for the 02.

Yeah, I agree. Corolla should be about 2 inches wider to be more proportionate and then it will be perfect. I do not want to be any bigger either since it would go into the midsize class. Although, now Mazda 3 is such a big car that it justifies Toyota's decision to grow the Corolla and they say it coming well ahead in time.

I have owned a 00 and 05 Corolla. IMO I think the 05(newest gen) is better since i am 6' tall. It's much rommier than the old one. When i sat in my 00, if you look from outside, you'll see my head almost hitting the roof although it's not. b4 i traded in my 00, i always wanted a bigger car (cuz i am tall), that's why i ended up getting a 05. I think the 05 is a little bit too high even tho i have an XRS with an half inch drop. If you drop it, it will look so much better. An S/XRS model is the best choice cuz it has a body kit, looks lower. And also the fact that this gen of corolla got a lot of aftermarket parts not like the 98-02. people said get a 02 S, out tein springs, and trd lip kit. Its so hard to get the kit nowadays. So i think a dropped 03+ corolla is the best choice, and it has lots of parts too (dont forget the trd supercharger). I remeber when the 03 first came out, like a few months after, they have so many aftermarkets parts already. and i still remember i waited a long time for the altezza light come out for my 00, but the altezza for 03 came out just 3-4 months after it came out. I am pretty sure there's still a lot of companies making parts for the 03+, and they are kinda slowing down making parts for 98-02.

But it all depends what you want tho. that's just my 2 cents. But the 03+ is definitly my choice.

the spambots tend to either create an off-the-wall thread, or they'll post in an old thread because whomever created the spambots knew they'd draw attention with old threads. just ignore the spammers, they're sortof like a necessary evil since the owner of this forum won't update his software.
