Crimping isn't that hard. I'm 6' also and 135lbs too. I use butt connectors all the time. I haven't had one come loose yet. :cool:

When you solder is basically turns it into one wire. If you change you mind later you can always snip the wire. No biggie.
The connectors will work just as good and won't be as permanent. :cool: I use connetors all the time :cool:
