Started doing the rear struts, the sway bar link literally fell off and i didnt get too far before snapping the end of my 3/8 ratchet (lifetime warranty FTW!) so i'll borrow a 1/2 ratchet tomorrow and go at it again.

Its decided to get warm the last few days, by warm i mean 30C which makes me feel like im melting, i know some of you in the states would find this cold (im looking at you californians!).So progress has very much slowed.

Got a few maintenance items from rockauto which arrived:
    Oil filter
    PCV valve
    Air Filter
Exhaust Manifold Gasket (ported manifold once my carbide burr arrives)

Anyone happen to know what size nuts the manfold and 02 sensor use? The ones on the manifold are pretty rusty nd the ones on the 02 sensor are almost gone.

No progress really, i ordered an 02 sensor and next week will be ordering the pipe that goes between the manifold and cat because in order to replace the doughnut gasket i will have to remove that pipe and everything is so rusted (funny how its contained to the exhaust system) that the 02 sensor studs need to be cut/grinded.The manifold nuts just want to round off even after a generous lubing so no ported manifold for this guy.

Car hasnt been on the road yet, still needs some things like rear brakelines between strut and drum replaced, rear sway bar links literally fell off when i was removing old struts, fronts are probably around same condition, timing seal needs to be replaced and i put the new seal in too far (would it have killed toyota to put a lip on the timing cover?) so a new one has been ordered and it needs some bodywork and exhaust fixed.

Exhaust pipe should be here today!

Yeah my sister and stepdad said a piece came out of it once too, they arent mechanically inclined.

Today i managed to get one downpipe bolt out i need to get the 02 sensor out but its rusted so bad it looks like theres 2 little spotwelds instead of nuts. The only really rusty thing on the car is the manifold area (manifold bolts, downpipe bolts, heat shield bolts (had to be ground off)).

I also debadged the trunk since one of the letters in COROLLA was missing, i have just the toyota logo now.I 'tested' the pass rear window and it now rolls up and down.I removed the rear speakers yesterday and am going to remove the stereo today since this should be here tomorrow.

Got the manifold bolts out and the vband clamp off, stupid pipe still dont wanna come off.It seems like it may take a big fucking hammer.

    *update*
So the pipe has a little grove in it like a keyway on a crank pulley, this is gonna be a challenge. My sway bar links arrived today, too bad its raining.

Timing seal arrived so i installed it and while putting the serpentine belt back on the tensioner refused to give enough slack to let me finish, i put enough force on it to strip the stupid fake nut thing. So looks like i'll be buying a new tensioner :headbang: This car better last me the rest of my life.

Installed front and rear sway bar links between rain showers today, had to cut the nuts on the old ones in half to get them off because they seem to be the original links.

Here's a shot of the side of th engine through the wheel well, notice all the oil EVERYWHERE from where the timing cover seal was leaking.

Also I was thinking of grafting the focus bumper to the corolla bumper and did a quick photoshop.
