How do you guys secure your subs?

How do you guys secure your subs?

I have a sub in my trunk that is always getting loose and moving just enough to make noise. I haven't found a way to fully secure it with no more movement.

Any creative ideas you guys use?

Ive been using L clamps, that i have to bend in order to stick to the trunks wall.

yea thats what i was using. i found these wall hooks at walmart today, i hope this will keep the skrew from making back ward progress. It literally unskrews its self lol.

luckily i was able to install these two brackets on and since my car is a hatchback it doesnt move, its being squished in between the brackets and the rear seats

when i had one, it was ziptied to the rear strut bar.

Idk if zip ties would do it. It slides laterally and even vertically. Over bumps u hear it, yet its drilled into the metal frame. Also the problem i keep having is that i can't get a nut in, to keep the skrew from coming loose through stop and goes. The bendable brackets i was using, decided to bend on their own, and they also have no rigidity anymore. And the L brackets I used have nearly no anchor points in the back.

Its just a pet peeve i know. :sad:

you can cure the jumping with a bigger n heavier one

um, i can't really help you. maybe build a new box to fit the trunk better?

i don't, just get urself some 100 RMS speakers and dynamats and ur finish. your corollas don't need trunk rattling woofers, its just weird.

why dont you just put a bolt threw the inside of the box threw the floor of the trunk ... youll just need a long enough bolt to go threw both and a deep socket to get the nut on

I was going to go for a speaker set up initially, but i got a great deal on the sub. I am very happy with it so far and my only complaint are the rattles that come from the glove box and my coins in the storage box

I always wanted something a bit deeper for those certain songs lol.

Thats what I used the L clamp and they hold good

Drill into the floor. Just watch out for your gas tank. 2-3 L-brackets on either side screwed into the floor will hold it perfectly fine.

Idk if you have yet to solve the problem, but I have massive 5 cubic foot birch wood box with a single 15 running 1600 watts rms. I had the same problem you did with the movement and jumping. So I went to Lowes and bought 2 L brackets, 4 1 and a half inch self tapping screws and and 4 1 and a half inch drywall screws. I put them in on the inside of the trunk with the back seats down so no on could see them and they have held great ever since. I predrilled the holes in the box to avoid any possible splitting. My low bass hits way harder now that the box isn't moving and the setup looks a lot cleaner. If you want later I could upload photos? It was really easy to do even with my amp rack in the way.
