So my idle still hasn't gone down, when warm it idles around 1500rpm, and i still have very very rough about to die idle in the morning. I figured i was't getting all the way closed on my throttle body so i tried to adjust it but it's already set as closed as it will go. Iv also tried checking for a vacuum leak with carb cleaner quickly.

    Any ideas?

Also I'm still getting a power loss in between 80% and 100% throttle.

Do you have cruise control? The throttle cable is also connected to that, it could be too tight up there somewhere, causing the butterfly to stay open. Highly doubt it but you never know.

thats what I'm thinking, i actually messed with my throttle cable up in the cruise control box thing. But i completely loosened my throttle cable at idle so i would be sure it wasn't pulling, and then tried to adjust the idle screw to close more but it would't close any further. I reset my battery overnight and when i drove to work this morning it had 0 power and was lunging like crazy. Might be in part from the computer being reset.

Whats a smoke test? Hold something smoking around areas that are prone to vacuum leaks?

Hey looks like I am not totally useless after all lol. That was my first guess was cruise control. But you could just go to a shop, tell them you think you have a vacuum leak and see if they can do a test for you.

so i put the thermostat back in and now its overheating again. No flow through the radiator. Iv gone through 3 t-stats. The 2 i have left i have tested in boiling water and they open fine. i don't know whats going on. Pretty frustrating. Thanks for always helping me out guys.

Also did some thinking, ok so if the entire cooling system is bone dry, and then i start filling it from the radiator, wouldn't it just fill the radiator and stop at the thermostat before the entire engine block and pump? How would the thermostat even activate if its not submerged in liquid?
    Added: May 28, 2012 7:42 AM
I didn't fill the engine block:rolleyes:, I'm amazed at how oblivious I am sometimes. Should be running tomorrow.

Did you burp the system completely?
I had an air bubble in my car and my gauge kept reading hot.
It still does that sometimes but it goes away after i blast the heater for a few seconds.
