    And heres my dilemma, i heard the injen CAI for the 9th gen corolla work with 8th gen if you relocate the battery. So my brain kinda went half retarded and made me think all 9th gen CAIs work with the 8th gen corolla so i bought this TRD intake, well its not gonna fit without some holes being cut, so thats where I'm at.

    So the black connector hose is your problem? Go to AutoZone and get a Spectre multi-diameter coupling. Cut-to-length and multiple sizes.

    Did you do a coolant flush or anything? Check your thermostat too.

    fuuuuuuuuuuuck! New thermostat, filled it up turned it on, no flow what so ever. fans came on, no bubbles, upper rad hose hot, lower cold, overheating. Still haven't flushed it though.

    The coolant comes out of the top rad hose from the block right? So it doesn't matter if my upper rad hose is higher than the radiator a little?

    Ya it was reset. unplugged it when i put new t-stat in. Could the water pump be bad? or the relay? i just changed the pump like 6k miles ago.

    Check it all, fuses, relays, water pump what ever you can.
    You sure theres no clog in the line? Or anything at all that would obstruct flow?

    Its taking awhile for the computer to figure it out. At first I pulled out onto the street and punched it and was like:(, bogging, super rough acceleration, but after about 10 minutes It was getting better.

    Flushed the block and radiator with hot water, and took out the t-stat. It burped and then worked great. Im going to leave it out for now, but ill need to put it back in when it gets cold again. Im not sure if that was the blockage though, because there was no flow whatsoever after i put a brand new t-stat in.

    you got to remember it was not going to be a direct drop in...but it will work

    you have to move both fuse boxes, i should have told you that before, should be easy...i did that when i was running a 9th gen SRI

    use the hole where the stock intake resonator is, you are going to need to cut the hole bigger, make sure you spray some paint so it does not rust the cut areas...ive seen this method in real life work, some guy showed me his set up at the meet, ill take a picture next time

    You bled the air out of everything though right? But yeah sounds like a thermostat being defective. Don't run without one for too long if the weather cools down. Won't be able to get the engine up to a good temperature.

    Drove to work this morning and it was better, still lacking power, it idles super rough on a cold start, I had to keep the idle up a little. And i need to put that t-stat back in, it did't get anywhere near operating temp.

    Definitely starting to feel the power improvement, less low end but the VVT-I kicks in HARD!
    Still need to but t-stat in and adjust the idle screw, it's getting too much air at idle and cold starts.

    Hahah, ya mine was burning a quart a week and i wasn't having it so i rebuilt it with the revised pistons and rings, wish i would built it with stronger parts but... i don't think i want to boost it, i wanna keep my gas milage. Im holding off on the big build until i get my 510. Anyway, gonna take more pics when i put my thermostat back in and hopefully take a vid.
