It's REALLY easy. I thought it was gonna be hard when I did it, but it took ten minutes, and I couldn't be more happy with the results. Looks much cleaner than adding a separate unit.

did you check out my link? did you have to remove your original speedo? or did the new one work just fine displaying mileage ect?

You do have to take out the original speedo to retain the correct mileage. It's just 5 screws to take it out, then you put it in the other cluster and screw it back in. The link you found is the one I used to walk me through it, but he also tells you how to swap the gauge face. You won't need to do that.

Yep, if you want to keep your mileage, just swap out the speedo part. It's really easy.
If you look at the center right part of this picture, you will see the five holes where the screws were that held the speedo in place.
The speedo comes right out once these screws are removed.

The new one drops right in where the old one was.

Now you're mileage is accurate. That easy!

I bought the wrong one my first time around for my 01 corolla. Swapping the speedo wasn't to bad. ;)

I replaced my cluster in my 99, and now the turn signal light doesn't light up, and when I press my defroster, my left turn signal lights up. Anyone have this issue?

that's b/c only certain years go together. 98-00 and 01-02.

i have a 98 corolla and i got a 00 cluster to swap in. you need to match one of the sets that i just mentioned. otherwise the wiring is different and you'll experience problems just like now.

Sometimes people do searches on something they need info for, and it points them to relevant threads on forums. In my case, this thread is the type of info I'm trying to get, and had it not been, a search engine would not have led me to discover TRD forums. As long as these cars need work, the old threads will be relevant and useful.

That said, I am waiting for a cluster I ordered for a 95 Camry. I have never done this stuff before, so am kind of nervous. I am wondering if there is any specific detail I should know for a 95 Camry LE before I do the swap.

    Thanks

I don't think there are any active Camry owners here
