DIY How to properly mount cBass TRD rear valences reps

So this has been a question everyone has been asking because apparently mine are a little different, my reps dont provide the groves found inside the valences so that kinda leaves one wondering on how to install them...well i decided to make a DIY

tools you need

10mm socket, drill, jack, double sided tape, measuring tape, scissors, rag, and screws

jack up the car and remove your wheel for better access


remove the screws to remove your mud guard

clean the area because you will have build up dirt from where the mud guard was on.

the distance from the top of the valence to the body line on the quarter panel is 8 1/2 inches for the proper height used with the real valences. You can mark it with something like a white coloring pencil or tape.

you will need to cut the 3m tape in half like im doing, you can buy this 3m tape at home depot and its in the paint section next to the spray cans

apply the tape like i did.

you will need to peel the ends like i did, it will help so when you test fit the valence and not stick to the body

also make sure you apply the tape near the edge because this creates like a bumper from the valence to the body of the car and avoid it from getting scratched or rubbing on each other.

make sure you drill a hole on the body of the car before installing the valence.

now attach it to the car and screw it in, you can now remove the 3m tape and line it up with the rear bumper curves. very hard to miss...

apply pressure towards the body with your hand and use the drill to screw it on.

the 3m tape does alot of work if installed right

now you want to install the second screw on the inside of the wheel well and you need to pull on the bottom of the valance away of the car to flare it out like the original ones do, and then use another screw so it wont move


this is optional but not needed,

if the inside part of the valence separate a little you can add another screw to hold it in for a total of 4 screws used.

its been proven that the smaller tape found in autozone is not sticky at all and its $6 for the roll.....you go to homedepot and the big roll is $9...and its at least 10x more the amount you get....

well its also thicker, this 3m tape is actually used to hang or hold up things....meaning it will stick better because the smaller one is meant for side molding and that is light

if anything james, we did not flare them out that much, we can still do that but that will leave an extra hole on your valences...not on the body of the car
