    4age v20 in a 2000 corolla...

is it possible and is it really worth it to swap that engine in over the 1zzfe. how much would it cost to swap it in cuz ive seen that that engine isnt that expensive but idk about the actual work and what else is need besides the engine and such would cost.

if you do the swap hook me up with the custom motor mounts......the only difficult part of the swap is the custom mounts...thats all....thats if you have a complete swap...engine, tranny, ECU, ignitor, and all that...axles......

it is possible. i saw one on ebay 4 sale with a 4age 20V. but it might not be road-legal in your state because its an older engine than the 1zz-fe

well AE100 to AE111 and anything in between hav basically the same chassis... so anything fit a 93-97 rolla will also fit a 98-02 also... but some little stuff might be different but nothing big in particular....

Yeah it wouldn't be a difficult engine to fit, probably a little redriling and grinding of the mounts or brackets would take care of it. Then it's just wiring it up, and making custom a/c and p/s lines, exhaust, and so on. Definetely a worthy swap.

IMHO, i wouldn't swap a vvti engine for a 4age unless your motor blows off...

if you have an older rolla like an ae92 or ae101, then it could be a thought because swapping engines on an ae101 from 4afe to 4age st 20v, is a bolt on love affiar, no problemos... just have a good electrician and mechanic who are familiar with ST's... HTH...

the only reason i asked this question was because i wanted more power out of my rolla but later decided against trying to make it fast and stick to the cosmetic aspect of the car. this also will be easier on me as far as money goes as well. thanks :D

maybe, if you want to do a swap, try the celica's engine... at least its a vvti...

jtweezy, AFAIK, the 4age blacktop, coming from ae111 levins came with vvt... just like the silvertops...

having a 4age ST in my ride feels so different, even with its HP gain, i am impressed... and during overtakings, its very reliable... i love my NA engine... i did have curiosities about doing the swap, but i am happy with it, a few more tweaks and i'll be fine...

its cheaper to do engine swap here in the philippines, and less restrictions compared to anywhere... here, i've seen ae101's with 4efte engines...

If you're not sure, then don't even attempt it. It's not a direct fit, like most people want. The mounting locations are SIMILAR but you will still need to have custom mounts, axles, steering rack, basically everything. Then you can try and tackle the wiring harness. Granted Hondas have very simple wiring compared to a Toyota, but still.

Just pick up an AE111 4age half cut and swap everything over. They had this motor in our chassis in Japan. This way, all of the parts you would ever need for the swap are on the half cut, just swap everything over!!! You will need to run an adapter harness in case body harness plugs/pinouts are different. The signals though, should be mostly the same since it is the same chassis. Any good Toyota aftermarket shop will have the FSMs and EWDs to do everything by the (Toyota) book.
