Engine NEED HELP

    So I swap a new motor in my 8th gen, pouted everything in, add all fluid and then when I put my key in and crank its turn on over then dies. Please lmk asap.

    I just looked at your thread, and based on a pics, seems like you swapped a vvti motor in your non vvti car.

    that definitely looks like a vvti motor based on the valve cover. You can see the holes from the the coil will be bolted down. Also you see the holes for where the plastic cover would bolt to the valve cover, and lastly the vvti motors had the oil cap hole raised like that. I could be wrong, but im going off what i see.

    I've never done it but it should be covered in the Haynes manual.

    Just because the Haynes manual shows you how it's done dosent mean your capable of doing it.

    Which is why he needs to actually look in the manual, and see if it's within his capabilities. He had help switching out an entire engine... I think he can find resources for a timing chain.

    No, it would cause a CEL and not accelerate past a specific RPM, in a 5 spd anyways. Not sure how it would affect an AT.
