SC300 bad electrical problems?

    From what I heard, SC300 are notorious for having bad electrical. Have you guys heard anything of the sort?

    One of my coworkers affectionately calls his 1992 SC300 the "Money Pit" - based off of how often he has electrical and fuel related issues. From intermittent electrical problems that magically fix/unfix themselves, to leaky fuel pump/lines, to dead injector driver circuit in the ECM (he's on ECM #3).

    Just like any car, there are ones that seem to be more trouble prone than others. Overall - I still feel that the Sc300 has less problems over the entire population of cars compared to other makes, but if you get one that is trouble prone - might be in for a lot of headaches.

    I guess I'd just have to look for one with a clean carfax and maintenance record. I could care less about mileage. I would swap a low mileage 2JZ-FSE motor.
