I need sticky tires for track/street

I'm gunning for 12's next spring and my Kumho AST's aren't gonna cut it. Unfortunately, I don't have much to choose from.

I can get these in 225/50/15:

    Kumho Ecsta AST (have now)
    Nitto NT 450
    BF Goodrich G-Sport
    Yokohama AVS ES100
    Sumitomo HTR 200
    Toyo Proxes T1R
Pirelli PZero System (very expensive..would rather not spend $200/tire)

    What do you think?

I know I'd be better off with drag radials, but until I get a couple of extra wheels, it's not happening.

Yoko S-Drives or Dunlop Direzza Star Specs.

I got the S-Drives on my car now (235/45/27) and they stick like glue once they warm up which doesn't take long.

I got a buddy running the same size but the Dunlop's and they stick like glue too.

I can get the Nexen N2000, but no dice on S-Drives, Direzzas or N5000's. This is a tough size to find.

The only reason I would say no to the N2000 is cause they have the same pattern as the N3000 and in my opinion they blow , They not comfortable and when they get low they slip in the rain , Thats why when I purchased the N5000 it was totally different feeling ... Another good tires is the Spectors and Capitol UHP ,,, Plus Hankook are awesome if you own a truck ....I know tires are tough choices and you have people living in different areas so where winter is different so a certian tire sells ... Just go with what your area calls for .... Even though I live in FLorida I use All Season tires cause there softer compound and they have more 32 seconds ... and ride smooth .... :)

Out of those, I'd get the Sumitomo HTR 200, or the ES100s.

But they are older models though that have been replaced with newer, better ones.

Why not order some online and have them shipped to you instead?

All seasons are not going to work. I'm pretty sure I will fry them.

I don't care much about rain traction, either - looking for sticky first. I have BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO x4 for bad weather. ;)

That was online (TireRack, DiscountTireDirect and eBay). I tried a local tire place and they couldn't get anything in that size.

I consider all the tires on the list crap.. well T1R is decent.

Actually I just read the OP again, since you're strictly drag, go with BFG.

I was thinking u wanted track tires as in road track/circuit. But BFG would do just fine on the drag strip seeing as you don't need anything with large shouder cornering blocks or stiff sidewalls.

I used to have some MIcky Thompsons they were awesome on the road and rain but when you go over a metal bridge it was scary :)

Trust me man I know what you mean.

Its gonna cost me at least 500 bucks next year for my tires, and they will prob last 6 months....but then I am also running a 235/45/17 with a mild camber adjustment.

Wish I lived in an area with nicer weather so I could run those tires. Too many sudden downpours here.

I'll probably settle for S.Drives or Kumho SPTs next spring.
