09 Corolla S Rear Disc Brake Conversion

it was pretty simple for mine. just take thw whole rear hub off the xrs. once you get there and see it, you will be able to tell what and how to take it off. its really only a handful of bolts. i took the brake cable from the ebrake back and the whole rear hub and then it is just take yours off and put the xrs setup on.

for the 8th gen corollas, there was a brake fluid resevoir that we also had to take from the donor car, but thats the only other thing i can think of

7th gen but is like anything else. the basic premise is the same

i dont think they would change the brake master cylinder between trims, too expensive to do something like instead of just doing the valve

Goku.....check out a local toyota dealership. tell them you need rear disc brakes for an 09 xrs...it should bolt on your setup.

I work for Toyota. Besides the rear disc, hubs, ebrake cables, lines, and ABS sensors you dont necesarily need to change the master cylinder, a proportioning valve (usually mounted on the firewall) is needed to equalize pressure more evenly on all 4 corners, rather than stock one which sends less fluid pressure on you drums. The one from XRS or Matrix may fit if u give it a try.

I was actually looking for just brembo calipers, not the entire kit, since i already have all the other stuff in the kit. Just need calipers.

I searched almost everywhere, except the place that they sell them, but can't find them.
Want brembo or nothing :-D. Love brembo, don't know why.

Does anyone know how involved /doable a rear rotor disc conversion would be for a 2001 corolla? I want to convert the stock drums to rotors. What is needed for that?

Just stop by your local mechanic, they will figure things out for you. It's also posted somewhere on this forum.

dr tweak at phoenix tuning sells a kit for 500 dollars.

oh and most local mechanics will laugh at your for changing out your rear drums with discs. its an asthetic mod only. your drum brakes will perform just as good as disc brakes unless you are running a circuit.

Just do your fronts.
