Yes another what to do thread.

Ok, iv posted on what car should i get. I had my mind made up, but now its like, damn thats more than i thought.

I was going to get a nissan 96 maxima se 5-speed and do about 5000 dollars in upgrades, making it cost me a total of about 11,000-12,000 total. Then i changed mind to a 89-93 Nissan 240SX Hatchback with the SR20DET swap, costing me a total of about 9000 dollars.

Well now im thinking about just spending 5000 dollars and having a AE101 4AGZE (170hp with lsd tranny) swap done. That 5000 covers the full swap. Only thing i have against it, is its FWD.

Im looking at spending about 4-5 thousand only, but if it envolves selling car, then 7000 about. Any good ideas or other choices?

I want to keep my car, and thats only big upgrade to do to it really. Thats main reason i keep it as option. And i dont wanna go through all the shit of selling it and buying another car. The only RWD car that is worth getting is the 240sx with SR20 swap already done. But other than drifting, am i really gonna miss anything with FWD with lsd?

Its either 5000 for a low milage engine supercharged 170hp, or 8000-11,000 for a low / brand new milage engine with 230-250hp (Depending if i did 240 or Maxima). I can get approx 3000 (hopefully) out of the rolla. Then spend 5000 with that, making 8000 on a 240SX with engine swap, thats if i can get one that cheap, some go for 10,000. Tuff decision.

Getting a new car would be nice. 03 Matrix XRS with 180hp would be nice. New car, nice style, 6-speed, ect ect. And good insurance. This is just something i gotta think about, but i was looking at options. I got about a month to decide what to do, but its gonna be long month with hard decision.

Well, id have to rebuild my engine in order to do anything to it. It burns oil, pretty bad, about 2 quarts every 3000 miles. So it would cost over 5000 having engine rebuilt with good internals, and then turboed.

why would it cost over 5000? it's a pretty simple engine! do you not work on your own car?

for that matter, just find a used 7AFE, build THAT and turbo it..

you can drive around your car while it's being done. the 7AFE isn't too expensive either.. but 5K for a 4AGZE?

Buying a used one and building it up i can do. But doing the switch between new one and old one i cant do, and turbo i cant do. And to have a full turbo bought and installed is like 3000-4000, buying and rebuilding an engine about 2000 for good parts.

That sound about right?
