    Yaris in Paris: Toyota To Unveil TS

    PARIS — Toyota is preparing a spicy Yaris, the TS, to be unveiled this fall at the Paris Motor Show.

    Under the hood of the little car lurks a brand-new four-cylinder 1.8-liter Dual VVT-i engine capable of 132 horsepower. That ought to give some street cred to the popular supermini. Top speed is 120 mph.

    The special Yaris has been equipped with a black mesh grille, front foglights integrated into the bumper, deep side skirts, new 17-inch wheels and chromed exhaust pipes. Naturally, the suspension has been retuned. There's no word yet on interior changes.

    The Yaris TS will go on sale in Europe in early 2007.

    Basically a yaris with the rolla engine stuffed inside.
    I wonder if we will get it here?

    answer to your question is - NO, we won't get it in north america. :D
    we never get those nice powerful european models in NA. but... anything is possible i guess. :)

    Is that the engine that powers the stock Corolla? If so, it's hardly a serious bump in performance, so no need to fret.

    it's Dual VVTi, rollas only have intake vvti the last time I checked... anyways from 130 HP to 132HP....

    i dun think thats the 1ZZ inside... i think its the next gen of the 1.8L motor... hah 1.8L w/ dual vvti only 5hp increase compared to the 1ZZ-FE...

    i considered a yaris after getting in my accident. oh well .. my dream car that i would buy in a heartbeat which they will never carry here in the states is a Japanese new release called the Toyota Auris. OMG, its like corolla on crack. same amount of power but handling and looks is nice...
