i'm thinking that if u bought it used, somebody had to replace the distributor, and the o2 sensor, and just used whatever tehy could find.

haah- 96rolla, i have THE SAME PROBLEM- all the stickers say 1.6 4afe, BUT i do have a 7AFE distributor sticker like yours...although-my manifold o2 sensor is the screw in type- i think the manufacturers swapped parts from both engines occasionally- every auto maker does to cut down on costs..

the only difference between the 4afe and 7afe is the deck height on the block and the pistons rods and crank to accomodate the extra stroke..... everything else should be identicle

That is exactly it.. the way they got 1.8L out of the engine is to stroke it... which sucks coz that undermines strength...
