This is my friends maxima, i know its not a rolla, but just generally i thought id ask, dont know if rollas have had this problem. So hes saying he cruises in 5th, he floors it, revs climb up and then frop to normal range and then the car lunges forward, like something is slipping, what do you guys think it could be?

    Slush box or stick???

If that happens with a stick, it's probably just the clutch disk or pressure plate, if that happens with a slush box, that's an other story.... it's called "time to swap to a 6 speed manual"...

i agree with tommy boy. i used to have weird revving on my toyota 4runner, and when cruising on 4th gear on the street or 5th gear on the freeway, the revs would skip and then settle. i had a manual transmission, it was definitely the clutch.
