Why is the 02-01 almost as much as a used 03?

Why is the 02-01 almost as much as a used 03?

I was looking at prices on edmunds and i couldn't beleave that the 02-01 prices were even close to the 03'.. I was looking at an 02 or 01 figuring it would be cheaper. But its not i rather have a newer car. :roll:

Well I guess since its only a year older it wouldnt be that much. I dunno

The 01-02 was a more expensive car that the 03. It is also a higher quality constrcution, so it will last longer. One of the primary design goals on the 03 Corolla was to get the production cost down.
