Engine Who was it....? (4A-GE with 4A-FE 'puter and harness)

    Who was it....? (4A-GE with 4A-FE 'puter and harness)

    ...that put a 4A-GE in their car while still using their original 4A-FE computer and wire harness?? I would like to hear fromy ou and ask how you did it.

    the page should describe what did and or didn't work..... the intake and header did bolt right up (the intake reducer was a bit hard to get on, but that's just because of the larger diameter of the TB).... to do this with a 4a-ge 16V you need a non T-VIS motor (ie, smallport). You should get a radiator for an ae92 GTS (i wouldn't be surprised if it bolted right up w/o any issues at all...) because the placement isn't quite right for the top hose....

    the headers did NOT bolt up to the stock exhaust system in my car, however.... the piping was different by about 1/2" back and 1/2" to the left...... had to have a shop do that....

    also, understand... because i have no throttle position sensor.... the ecu never goes into idle mode... and i didn't pass emissions....

    Hey Man,

    Thanx for responding! I do have a couple questions for you.... Did your bolt-on's fit right on too? Like your intake and your header? Also, what kind of power gain did you recieve?

    I've read through your page and sent it to my mechanic friend. We'll probably be doing it to my 97. But we'll see. Anyway, thanx again.
