McCollough (sp?) are bad... i did a write up on hids back on the old vvti... it got deleted i guess...

but my supplier who worked at McC... for about 5 yrs said their products have a high defect rating... thats why no oem companies want to use their product... and McC does not make their own bulbs...

good brand are osram and hella... valeo... etc... for ballast and philips and osram for bulbs... those are the good high quality ones...

ne ways... i use to have hella ballast and 5000k bulbs... by philips...

now i have valeo ballast with 4100k osram bulbs...

lilhunnie118 have osram ballast with 6000k osram bulbs...

I bought some blue HID'S from eBay they're like 7000K and man are they good, I've had them for like a year and they haven't blown or dimmed and no problems with my electrical system either

I heard horry stories about McCulloch -and good luck finding replacement parts.

I did a custom hid setup using Audi ballasts (OEM HElla), Philips 4300K d2s and a caspers adapter/glare shield installed in JDM koito housings. The cutoff is still not as great as with projector or hid reflector housings but it dosen't send out ungodly amount of glare.

All this minus my jdm housings cost about 250 and replacement units (bulbs, ballasts are widely avilable as opposed to "hid kits"

NEVER BUY TINTED hid bulbs... youll get probs in the long run... ppl tint oem "yellow" bulbs to get bluer bulbs the cheap way... those tint will not last and will cause the bulb itself to deform and stuff...
