    Which motor>

ok guys i have a 93 rolla with like 200 somthing thousand miles on it. I have two different 4age motors for a swap. which one would be best in overal performance and daily driver. 1: 4age 20v slivertop. have everything expect wireharness. 2: red top 4age that came out of my 92 gsi. the only thing thats missing is the axles. my ownly question is all i have is the engine harness. is it just plug and play or did i need the hareness on the interior?

    thanks

smallport..... the 20V will be about 4-5 times more difficult and will yield only 5-10 more whp and about 200rpm more..... the axles you can use for whatever is in your tranny now.... all C series axles are the same (that i know of)

The silvertop is better, but it's going to be a pain without a wiring harness. I would recommend going with standalone engine management. Do a search online for Megasquirt, it's very cheap and effective.

yea i'm gona go with the smallport. But is the hareness from it just plug and play with the factory hareness in the car or are they different. I pulled every single wire from the engine bay that lead up to the front. Will those plug right in with then one in the car.

    thanks

You'll have to label each wire and see which one goes where. Start by getting the wiring diagrams for each engine, then label each wire, and it will make more sense to you. They are not plug and play.

still making it difficult.... especially between a 4/7afe and a 4age, all of the sensor connectors are pretty much identical, and are even the same color as the sensor/vsv that they plug into.... along with the wiring between the 2 motors are the same colors... i'm noticing almost the same coloring on a silvertop 20V i'm helping wire up.... though, he left that attached to the engine and then swapped the engine in... not making things easy

the body harness for the smallport will not be the same as the car you're going into.... if you decide to use your smallport ecu, then you'll need to figure out which are the power wires leading to certain sensors (ie, map sensor, ecu, etc etc etc) that have an ignition turn on, along with which wires go form the engine to the gauges (they'll be the same color between the 2 harnesses, but you may need to splice into the body harness)...

it's really easier than it seems
