I got my jack from Harbor Frieght. Fortunately, there's a store just 5 minutes from me.

Do you absolutely need an aluminum jack? Regular steel is a lot cheaper and you won't notice much of a difference unless you're lugging it around.

I managed to get a 2-1/4 ton jack + jackstands at Sears for $40 on sale. They have the set for $55 right now. You can put the money you save into other tools you might need.

I have a Sears 3ton jack -- if I find some extra cash/time, I might go get a lightweight 2ton..mine is heavy, and if I have to take it somewhere, I'd rather take something that's not going to drop the back end of my car 2 inches. :p

I agree with you on this one... I was looking for a jack and ended up buying a "low profile" aluminum jack from Harbor Freight for around $100.

well... actually i did buy one of those "cheaper" ones... and i didnt know that in order to drop the car... i needed to use a screwdriver.... im guess i was used to using snap on jacks... so dats why im lookin for the ones that can lift and lower the car by turn/pump the handle...
