A ggogle search revealed that it is in the gas tank but there may be another in line. Follow the fuel line from the tank to the engine to see if there is an additional filter.

last year's race car had the pump and filter in the tank. This clears up some room, but it's a pain if/when we need to change out the filter or pump.

I'll try to trace the fuel line back sometime tonight and see if I can find where it is.

Ya, my understanding is also that the fuel filter is in the tank. I can't remember if that was direct from Toyota or if I heard it somewhere else.

Man fuel filter in the tank is bull shit, i hope they didnt actualy do that. That would be pretty freakin stupid. Even if there was another in line filter, the one in the tank would catch the brunt of the stuff and would need to be changed more then the inline one. A fuel filter is actually something that needs to be changed every once in a while. Deffinately not good for the ENTIRE life of the car without changing atleast once or twice.

Using google I went to several "parts sites" entering 03 Corolla fuel filter. ALL showed the in tank filter only, nothing else. Call the dealer for the last word on the subject.
