Unichip sells one, but I have no idea if it's heterosexual, or as you put it, "gay."

Anyway, the Unichip is out there but I gather it's not really worth it unless your engine is also supercharged.

Ok to clear a few things up any modification done to a car is gonna do less on a NA car. Just like my CAI gained 5 hp NA and 10 on FI. The chip is the same way. Now the chip is not something that will do much for you if your bone stock. I got about 5 hp or something. Smoothed out the power curve and all but the Unichip really shines when you start doing more mods like intake, exhaust, header, mid pipe, or supercharger to name a few. It will correct the Air/Fuel ratio, as well as timing. Pretty much it will get you more power out of your previous modifications. So yes the Unichip is worth it even if you are NA.

Really? The opinions I heard about the Unichip was that it offered a very small gain in horsepower for non-supercharged engines, particularly for the price of the chip, installation, and dyno time. That is, it's not that it DIDN'T provide gains, but for the price you pay, it wasn't THAT much.

So you think it'd be worth it even with mods as simple and basic as exhaust and intake? Or should one go further and add headers and downpipes to the mix?

from what i hear if tuned correctly, it should be safe..and if you have a lot of mods it should optimize performance and efficiency. this is just info ive heard from friends and such..not personal experience..
