Not bad at all, the engine can be had for around $1000 shipped. The installation is $700, and would take me probably 3 weeks if all went well. There are a few extras, a custom power steering setup, throttle cable, exhaust hookup, etc, that usually comes to around $500. So you're looking at it all done at about $2200. If you need it converted from auto to manual like this one, then add another $400 for parts and labor.

    yep.... looks like a 20V :)

within a week or so (given that my moving doesn't take too long) i'm gonna help a friend get his 20V running (finally...... an ecu with only 2 of the 3 plug is hard to wire up *rolls eyes*) in his mr2.... and on megasquirt.... we're hoping for around 130-140whp on the stock longblock just by eliminating the afm & stock ecu

that's not a bad price..... but, 3 weeks is a bit long..... "custom" power steering should just bee an ae92 gts ps steup.... easily enough found.... throttle cable can be found from a first gen front wheel drive (the st165?) in any junkyard.... the cable is like 6' long.... more than you need..... and for like $3..... exhaust hood up..... any 4ag downpipe should fit....except for an ae86.... but any mr2/ae92 gts should work............

Hehe wish I had known that, I had a custom hose made!

I also grabbed a power steering resevoir from another car and made that work, since the one from the car is right on the pump itself. I suppose one from a an AE92 GTS would work too then.

Do you mean a 5th gen Celica throttle cable?

Also that's three weeks working two days a week...

yeah.... the school of "get in your garage and start turning a wrench" :)

sorry, i was a little drunk when i posted that last post..... yes, i meant the first of the FWD celicas...... it's the same cable i used in my ae92
which can be seen in this picture:
    http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y82/toyotaspeed90/MR2/DCP_0041.jpg

the cable doesn't bolt up exactly the same, but it's very easy to make work

but who needs power steering or a/c anyways :)...... i've been driving my mr2 and ae92 so long (w/o power steering), then i drove a v6 acura legend and i hated the PS, lol
