    What's better than type Rs??

What's better than Alpine type R subwoofers? I'm looking for maybe a 10" that can compete with a 10" type R. Please list any other good subs out there?

Power Acoustik and Blaupunkt possibly, but they're pricey.

how bout a 12? the adire audio shiva is probably the best bang for the buck 12" available at about 125 bucks.

    http://www.adireaudio.com/diy_audio/drivers/adire/shiva.htm

whats your budget, if you have some cash pick their brahma series, with a stout amp you'll send the others crying to their mama. (and it comes in a 10" :) )

heres a brahma 10 doing its thing:

heres the work of a single brahma 15, with 1.5kw of power in an explorer

ive been using adires stuff for some time at home, and their car audio products have sent many car audio competors home with trophys, well worth your time to check them out.

I have one brand new Elemental Designs e12K.44 4ohm DVC for sale $135.

It's simply the BEST subwoofer for that price.

    Let me know.

It opened my mind when I started going to caraudio.com, carsound.com, and caraudioforum.com
There are so many brand that I didn't know, and yet their qaulity are far beyond those name brand (Sony, Pioneer, .....)

Anway, do you have a system too? TheBeak? I'd like to talk with someone who are really into audio system in this forum.

i'm running a brahma 12" in a 1.8 cf enclosure tuned to 38 hz... Sounds pretty damn good for such a high tuned box, I would prefer a lower tune but i was unable to find any prefab boxes with a lower tune that werent too big, since i dont have the time, or equipment to make my own box... Brahmas are great but you need quite a bit of power, 400 watts at least i'd say, but more like 500-1500. I had infinity perfects before which had a real nice low end (below about 60hz) but they wouldnt take all the power my amp gave them and blew on me.. THey did the same thing the guy was complaining about the shivas doing when they received too much power but on these the glue would actually come off where the pole peice was connected to the spider causing loud knocking noises..

darren, no my rollas system is stock. ive walked away from car audio, and have re-focused on my primary musical intrest of home audio/home theater. im building a new house that will include a dedicated HT room, with seperate HVAC and dedicated circits for power. the interior/electronics layout is being profesionally designed and should keep my ears and eyes happy for some time.

now the system in that room will include an IB sub, something along the lines of 4 tempests, or perhapse a pair of tummults. (well see how money holds out...) power will come from a pro-audio amp, probably a crown or QMS or makie.

i do try and stay reasonably current though on the car-audio, as you never know when the bug will bite again....

What about Focal? I'm no car audio buff, but I was in one of the local car stereo shops and they had some kind of competition car with the Focal speakers in it... Let's say the imaging and separation was very, very good.

    subs

i work at a stereo shop in l.a. my opinion is the awt110x by audiobahn is the best 10" subwoofer. JLAudio also has some 10" sub. the w6's are preety goog.

JL Audio W7 are the best!

2-W7's with 2-1000watt monoblock amps would be the SICKKEST!!!
