What to do w/ Flexible pipe

I think I have a hole in my flexible pipe down from the exhaust manifold. I can't really tell where else the noise is coming from so I'm guessing their. What can I do about it? Do they make a replacement for it? I imagine if I take it to an exhaust shop its going to be costly....

could be a cracked exhaust manifold too...pull off the cover on it and see if there's any cracks. otherwise, just get a new downpipe from the dealer ship and slap it on there yourself...it involves removing and replacing around 6 bolts.

but of course if you're running 13's then you're probably not using a factory exhaust ;)

LOL nice one! Acutally I just replaced the "exhaust manifold" about 2 months ago, and I hope that wouldnt be it. It looks pretty clean to me. I climbed under the car when it was running and could hear the leak but could not determine the exact location. But was guessing the flexible pipe. If I bought that kit at Wal-mart wouldnt it end up braking b/c of the flexible pipe moving so much due to engine movement? Due they sell just the flexible pipe seperately? If there is a place that sells it, I would just try to weld it on or something.

did you replace the gasket between the exhaust manifold and downpipe when you replaced the manifold...that could be where it's coming from

Are you being serious w/ duct tape? I still havent gone to the exhaust shop but I notice that after I run the car for a good couple minutes the noise seems to drop, but like when I first start the car its real loud.

the manifold should be good..... he got it from me (i took it from the 4afe when i had it).... it seemed to be a different design than the ones that crack that i've seen.... it was more like a stock 4age cast iron manifold

anyways, yes you can get just a flexpipe

thanks thomas, but where can I just purchase the flexible pipe from? I dont have any mad cash flowing through, so I'm on a tight budget. The manifold is still in perfect condition, I rechecked it and everything works good.

It would have to be welded on correct? Where did you end up buying that part at? Or did the exhaust shop supply it
