    What the @#&! is that?

May be a stupid question but something in the interior sparked my curiosity. Have you ever noticed on the dash, by the ignition area of the steering column, there are 5 slits/openings in the dash itself. What are they for???? Inquiring minds want to know......I think toyota hid a camera in there in order to perform market research on driving habits...

I wondered that too. If you ever have an alarm installed it would be a good place for the glas break sensor to go. I thought abey it was there for the stock alarm.

My guess it is improve air flow, to cool under the dash. In Texas my dash prob gets over 120 F easy, on a summer day. But I'm guessing...

It's the impact sensor for the alarm system. It's on all the dashboards even if there is no alarm.
