    What kind of strut bar

Hey. I was thinkin of getting a strut bar but I don't know what kind. I don't want to spend a lot so I was looking at the Megan Racing one on ebay cuz it looks a little better than the generic round ebay one. The Megan Racing one will be $25 plus $15 s&h and tax but do any of you have this bar? I wanna know how it is! Thank you.

I have the Megan Racing bar and am very satisfied with it. I have it with Tein springs and I can definately tell that it is there. I cant see spending $120 on a strutbar when I can get one for about $30 that is pretty close. So yeah, I'm very satisfied with it and recommend it for anyone wanting one without the "empty wallet". Megan Racing isnt as "cheap" as some might think.

giving credit where credit is due... The TRD STB is probably better, but wow... its expensive. Plus, I can't get it in red to match my engine accents  (check sig)

Hey guys, also thinking of getting the Megan Racing one from Ebay. You guys know if I can get even a better deal then 40 bucks shipped? Does anyone know how it compares to a TRD one besides the price difference. Has someone experienced both and know if there is a significant difference or not? A gunmetal one for me :D

I got fcked! Don't buy from "built4race" he sent me the generic ebay one that is flat instead of the megan racing bar and I got charged $40 for it. The ebay one still works but, I could have gotten it for MUCH cheaper if I just bought the ebay one from the beginning. I basically got ripped off $30

Whats a good source for the TRD one? I see it's $150 compared to bars as low as $15. What is the big difference?

Also would like to know the big difference. Specifically between the Megan Racing one and the TRD one, the two i'm considering for my car.

the TRD strut bar is one piece and its made out of stronger material than the others. since others such as the megan racing strut bar are more than one piece it is POSSIBLE that they could allow slightly more flexing than the TRD but prolly not much unless u drive like i do  but if u compare perfomance and price then the megan racing is far superior to the trd since the trd is priced ridiculously high

Strut bars come in three basic varieties.

    1) The cheapest generic bars are made of "carbon steel". They're not very light, they are quite strong, but they will rust.

    2) The Megan bar is made of aluminum. The advantages are that it is light and aluminum is a cheap metal. The disadvantage is that aluminum is also a soft metal, so it's not a good choice of material if you're trying to stiffen up the front end.

    3) The TRD bar is made of stainless steel, albeit a fairly cheap grade, but a much more expensive material than aluminum. It's not as light as the Megan bar, but it is considerably stronger and will stiffen up the front end much more.

In the end, it comes down to what you want. If you want the best improvement and aren't too concerned with cost, go with TRD.

If you want an improvement over stock without spending alot, go with Megan.

    Stay away from generic...

where is the best/cheapest place to get a trd strut bar? I like the idea of a full one peice bar. For the price the megan racing one seems fine. But I don't like the way it's designed.
