Engine What does this engine code mean?? Help!

    What does this engine code mean?? Help!

    I have an OBD2 reader and it spit out code 420 (yeah i know so fitting)

    In the book it says :

    "Catalyst System efficiency below threshold (bank 1)"

    What does this mean???

    A month or so ago i had gotten water in my spark plug area ((after market wires + hood scoop)) I got it home but on my way home somethin shot out sparks outta my muffler. A friend of mine is sayin my catalytic converter is probably toast. IF i got a full catback woulld it replace the catalytic convertor or would i have to get another one?

    Catback typically only consists of the piping.... but u could weld on a high flow cat while they do it
