Engine What 5-speed tranny will fit 03 Corolla??

I have no idea...you may want to try calling a shop and asking.

If you can pull the tranny yourself, you may want to check prices on a new/rebuilt trans and swap the whole thing out..shop labor is expensive (~$60/hr).

What 5-speed tranny will fit 03 Corolla??

I have a 2003 Corolla. I slid out into traffic yesterday and had to throw it into reverse. It scared me and I hit redline and then dumped the clutch in reverse. It popped out of gear after the tires spun a bit and now it makes a very LOUD noise when in reverse. I've obviously bent or broken something in there. Forward gears are fine. I'm going to change the fluid today, but I need to start looking for a new (used) transmission because I'd wager that the transmission isn't going to last much longer. It has the C59 manual tranny.

I'm looking at 5-speeds from a 2000+ Celica GT, Matrix base or XR, and of course other 2003+ Corollas. Do they ALL share the same transmission? Would a 6-speed from a Celica GT-S or Matrix XRS fit?? What are the options here? What will be a direct bolt-up aside from another 2003+ Corolla 5-speed?

Corolla/Celica 5sp should fit..the 6sp GTS transmission would require new shift cables and some custom work..

OK, forget the questions about the 6-speed transmissions. A 6-speed would be neat to have on a Corolla, but I feel like it would be a waste of time and money and probably wouldn't fit, so scratch that idea.

What are my choices for 5-speed transmissions on a 2003 Corolla? What other models will fit? Think it would be more cost effective to just pull the transmission out and take it to a transmission repair shop??
