Weight of the Stock black Steelies

1999 Corolla with stock 14" steelies - anybody know offhand how much the stock black steelies weigh? I want to save weight at the wheels with lighter wheels, but I want to be sure I'm not wasting my money just dropping 1 or 2 pounds. For sizes, I prefer 15" or 16", but I'll go with 14" if it's worth it. I desire Volk TE37 (don't we all!) but not enough money. In terms of a lightweight wheel, what is comparable to Volks at a smaller price? I heard of ROTA - are they lightweight? I see lots of Motegi RT5's and some Nippon F-2's on Ebay for some good prices, any notes concerning these (crap or not crap)? I don't car about looks, form follows function.

The best light rims (vs money) is 15" Konig Helium. 10.8lbs a piece, around US$100 each.

Konig Heliums are 11.8 lbs/each in 15's. Unless there is a 14 inch rim available.

Nevermind, after researching, looks like I was told wrong. 10.8 lbs for the 15's. Pretty sweet.

But in 16", you will need to use 40-45 tires right? Aren't they 40-45 tires heavier than those 55 and up tires even they're same overall size?

lol without.. but since the wheel is larger and i'm keeping the same overall size, the tires weigh slightly less.

    well..

i use a 45 series tire. its 1.5 inches wider (meaning width of wheel) than stock, but also about 2 inches thinner (referring to thickness of the wheel). the mass of the tire depends on the volume of the tire also. because volume for a circle depends on the square of the radius (thickness) but on the width in only a linear fashion, i would say that the 45 series tire used on a 16" wheel is going to be much lighter than a 55 series tire.

16 inch tires are at least 20 pounds each
