    Weapon-R SRI + Alphawerks Cat-back...

Hi, I'm kinda of a new member (this is my first post!). I just have a simple question to ask.

Does anyone know the estimated HP gain with a Weapon R Dragon Intake and Alphawerks Cat-back exhuast system on the Corolla 99?

    Dynos would be nice!

    Thanks!

    lmao at blokkem's post.

    suck in that warm air!

seriously you can expect about a three horsepower gain and a smoother power band.

the longer heat soak sets in the worse your performance will be. cruising when the intake cools down you should expect a nice gain. a good filter is the key.

cat back should be worth about 7-15 HP maybe. i am not too sure because i have not had experience with it.

Do you think a Weapon R Heat Shield would compensate would that warm air?

the heat shield would probably only really help if you ran the hose that comes off it to a place to get outside air. Ive contemplated that before and decided that 4 feet of hose isn't a SRI anymore and is probably more trouble than its worth. Im not being a smart ass when i say this, dont get the intake for the power, get it for the sound and let that be your satisfaction in it. trust me.

you will probably lose peak horsepower (around 2) with a short ram intake as well as lose flatness in your torque curve. also with the cat back you will experience an increase in torque in high end, but your low end torque will go down. a ~5 hp increase at peak (redline for your car) corresponds to the torque changes.

I installed my intake a few days ago (and my cat-back has been on there for awhile now), and all I can say is I really like it. It sounds great, and my shifting (on auto =( ) is much much smoother. I can't really say I gained ANY power, but I am sure lovin' my car!

    Thanks guys!
