i've heard of Beck/Arnley, which are OK. Delco and Bosch are decent. i've never heard of Gates or either of the Cardone brands.

    water pump for 1zzfe

I went to rockauto.com and there's a lot of water pumps listed.
Which one do you guys recommend?

there's one as cheap as $25.xx and as expensive as $100
there's a water pump by A-1 Cardone, Cardone Select, Beck/Arnley, ACDelco, Bosch, and Gates.

I just read it again and it says that Bosch ($52.79) is the OE replacement. So I guess that one?
Also, do I need the water pump gasket too?

Just remember, you get what you pay. The cheap one is just that, cheap. I've only heard of AC Delco and Bosch, but either are very reputable.

I use 1/4 inch ratchets for spark plug jobs on 02+ WRX, they're small enough to fit in the space between the heads and the wheel well. I could usually get them done in about 20mins.. only problem is finding a torque wrench that could get in there.

But staying on topic.. Go OEM

it's not that the engine bay is packed, it's the location of the plugs. i've busted quite a few knuckles in just a year and a half of ownership, thanks to the engine configuration.
