Water hissing sound

For about the last 4 months whenever I drive through a puddle while turning left I get a water hissing sound that is in sync with pressing the gas. At first I thought it was my sri intake with water somehow getting in there so I put my stock box back in. Even with the stock box in I still get the same problem. Eventually (about 30-45 seconds later of normal accelerating) the hissing sound goes away. Any opinions on what is going on here?

edit - I want to state that it 100% is not air making the sound via normal intake sound.

These posts are from vvt-i but just to keep both in sync

if it does it when you park for a while and then turn it on then its normal but if it does it after the engine is warm then something is wrong with your Cold Advance Start System, pretty much it accelerates your engine for it to warm up. somewhere along the lines something is wrong with your Mass Airflow Sensor/Meter clean it out and try it again. and try to reset the ECU. it should clear it up, DO NOT clean out the MAF with the car on or damage/ readings to your ECU may suffer.

No, this is only happening when I drive through puddles while turning left (like through an intersection driving 15-20 mph). It also happens sometimes when a car in front of me is sending mist up after it rains or something. I know for a fact that its not the intake that the sound is coming from though.

edit - it doesn't matter if the car is cold or warm, it happens regardless when the above conditions are met.
how is your coolant level on your resivoir? check for leaks on the little hoses that run on the left side of the engine, they run from the block to the intake on the water temperature sensor, my 01 and 98 had this problem but i really need for you to be more specific , i am having a hard time understanding what you are trying to say.

Its hard to describe. The sound is just the sound of water being sucked into something. Not a lot of water but a real small amount at high pressure. Its not interal to the engine because it is rather loud and occurs immediately after going through puddles while turning left. Almost as if the tire sent a mist of water into something that is sucking air, but its not the intake (stock box is in). If i get on the gas the sound gets louder and then whatever is making the sound eventually goes away. If i stay off the gas the sound doesn't occur but as soon as i press it, its there. Again, this only lasts about 30 seconds after going through a puddle when turning left and then its gone. I dont feel any effect when this happens other than the sound.

I just thought of a good way to relate the sound to something. Much like an sri or cai intake sounds when you install it with the air it sucks in, now imagine instead of the sound of air being proportionate to the acceleration it is a watery air sound. Thats what it sounds like except I have no sri or cai installed.
edit- coolant is filled to normal

I have no idea what's causing the issue. Get a stethoscope, take the chestpiece assembly off, and poke the tubing around to listen for any air leaks where you think it's coming from.

does it sound like water slurping? like if i vaccum was to suck water through (just not as strong)..kinda like slurping the last drops of liquid in your cup with a straw? or is the sound more quiet like the water is swishing through.

also from you driving, around where does the sound look like its coming from?

yes you could definitely say it sounds like a slurping sound. When I am driving and it happens, it sounds like its coming from the front section of the car and real low to the ground.
