I'm guessing the guy was going around a turn rather fast(sliding/drifting) and hit a bump or pothole going through it. But who knows. He could have been driving it normally and the road conditions caused the shaft to break.

That goes to show you, NEVER cheap out on parts that would affect your safety. IE suspension, brakes, rims, tires, etc. ksport/D2 has only been around in the states for abour 4yrs. Megan about just as long. Many road racers would tell you they perfer a Koni/GC setup over "JDM" coilovers and with good reason. Both these companies been around for decades and are race proven.

And I'm not saying JDM coilovers are crap because Ksport/D2/Megan/G4 are made in Taiwan. I still trust their coilovers with some reservations but I'd be scared shitless to ride in a car with Ksport brakes.

hit a pothole hard enough and anythings liable to break....i mean, not every part is going to be perfect and i mean there are so many other influences. put a brand new wheel to a deep pothole going a decent speed....nomatter whether its good or bad its liable to bend or break. Yea it sucks but i mean, look at how many other people have had no problems

Well, keep in mind that other major brands also fail. Tein, JIC, Cusco have all had failures just like D2/Ksport. I wouldn't be too worried about it. You don't drive it competitively or recklessly so I don't think anything drastic will happen other than your CV boots rubbing. LOL :D

    no thanks!

here's my guess on the D2 accident. the spring wasn't coiled up towards the top (tightly) with the perches, and the steering knuckle gave way and when the car hit a bump or pothole snap when the rod. just speculating. but i dunno, maybe the tinsle stregnth on that was totally weak or the shock absorber had been in an accident before.

Well there are many one way adjustable coilovers where the spring is almost never coiled up to the top. IE Tein Basic, SS, Cusco Comp S, koni, H&amp;R, etc. and I never heard of any problems from them. Bare in mind I spend time in a few other road racing forums. I've seen bent strut rods from cars that been in collisions but never anything like this.<br />

Vibe: Yes Ksport and D2 is the same company. I've seen pictures of their booths at auto shows in Taiwan, HK, and Malaysia where they displace both brands side by side in the same exibit. Not to mention they have the same product lineup and design, all that's different is the color of the powdercoat.

yeah, keep them away from your cv boots! oh hey rolla tuner, i'm gonna put back my 7kg springs in the front so the front end can sink lower without sacraficing shock travel. just letting you know... hehe
