The all black look is stealthy and clean. A polished lip detracts from the whole look of the car.

That's what's in "style" now, but personally, I prefer a car to be black with bronze wheels, white with bronze or gunmetal, or blue with bronze wheels. Maybe the time attack style (black w/ red lip) on a white car. Maybe. :)

And BTW, Rolla95, if you polish the lip on those wheels, I'll bite your torso and give you a disease. :D
(see if you can figure out where that line came from).

I'd leave them all black. I personally like a polished lip on a lighter colored wheel (ie. gold or silver) - but for it to work on a black or dark colored wheel, has to be different design, like a mesh style or certain split spoke designs. With a cleaner, heavy spoke design - like you wheel, less is more.

I've got bronze wheels on my white 8th gen but I wish I had gotten black. I'd rather reserve bronze and gold for Subaru's.

Exactly. 16"+ on a compact car is just wasted rotational energy and extra unsprung weight. Unless the car has high horsepower, 15's are perfect.

16's aren't that bad. You have low profile tires so it's still close to stock. 17's however are like the dark side to me. You have a really clean set that actually makes it look smaller than it really is. I couldn't tell that they were 16's.
