Even if they won the suit, 1 bil is but a fraction of the total value of GooTube. I think they'll argue that it's a free vid hosting site that allows people to choose what is posted and that hundreds of new clips are posted everyday. They do take them down pretty fast if copyrighted(look at the UFC stuff that hits Youtube) but because of the site's structure, it's hard to catch them all before they are viewed. Viacom's just pissed because they didn't think of or buy them first.

I have Wal-Mart stock...and quite a few shares at that. I bought most of my shares when it was at a low point of $42 or something like that and now its back where it use to be at $47....multiplied by the number of shares I have and I was a happy individual...too bad it couldntve been back up to where it was a few years ago when it was holding steady at $60. But I too wish I could go back and put all my stock money into Google..

I remember sometime back in 2003 (near the SARS time period), i bought some AMR stocks (american airline) when they were almost about to be bankrupt. They were below $1 per share. I knew they were going to be subsidized by the government to prevent them from going out of business. I bought in...lots of shares. Never before was I so happy to see the stock market open (constantly refreshing on Yahoo finance) and making about 1000-1500$ per night (i was in japan at the time, so it was night time when the stock market opened).

^^The main American Airlines/Boeing Maintenance facility is based in Tulsa. Its also the largest one in the states too. It takes forever to drive around it. American Airlines/Boeing has a strong grip on Tulsa's economy. But I wouldnt invest in their company just cuz its so unstable and they're always having lay-offs n whatnot. My dad has worked for them for 20 years and always comes home worrying if he'll have a job tomorrow...

My dad worked as a project manager for Autozone in arond 1992 when they were at 26/share. There were 2000 shares split between 7 of us kids. They've since split 2 or 3 times and are now at just under 97 a share. I haven't even looked at what my portion of the shares is worth total but I originally had 285 of them in my name before the first of a series of splits.

I woudn't have wanted any Google because by the time it was up for public sale it was already in the triple digits. I'm debating now whether or not Ford is going to bounce back enough to purchase a couple hundred shares....at 7 bucks apiece it's a bargain...that is, IF they bounce back!

But was it them or GM that borrowed a shit ton of money to float themselves for the next year? I don't remember, I'll have to go look....cause if it was Ford, all that AM money is gonna be tied up by debt.
