    Verizon sucks

ok verizon is officially the WORST company ever. I ordered 4 DSL lines to my house(every room in my house comes with its own independent phone line), and its gonna take them 1.5 months to activate the DSL! WTF!!! they have a 30 day money back guarantee, but i dont see myself using it because my DSL isnt gonna be on in a month! plus they butchered my order when half of the lines were put into their computer with an incorrect bandwidth and the name and address had mistakes in it. Wow. This is pretty bad.

why not just use one line and wirelessly transmit the band with to the diffrent computers in the house... that seems like it wuld make more sence... and be much cheaper...

If you can get cable, you may want to consider it - RoadRunner has 8Mbps lines..just run a few switches off of one router.

If you can get Verizon FIOS, that would be even better. :D

we could get 1 8mbit line from verizon($200/month), but its actually cheaper to get 4 dsl lines($160/month) at 3mbits each. It wouldnt make any sense to try to get multiple cable lines because the whole house runs on splitters in terms of cable - and its capped at 8mbits for the house as a total because of coaxial capacity. Plus FiOS is coming soon so having verizon will help :)

a T1 line costs 1000+ per month. we get the same bandwidth with our 4 dry-loops, plus its biased towards download which we need more than upload.

Go for it, then, and spring for FIOS as soon as you can. One 15Mbps line should do the trick..if not, two definitely would.

yeah, verizon is crap... dont even get me started on their cellulars, haha.

I cancelled early out of my contract and paid out the *** for it, but it's worth it to me now just for the great service I get with cingular.

Thats cellular service tho. This guy is talking about DSL. Cellular service depends on the area. I'm sure you have great reception with Cingular but around my way Cingular sux ***. Whereas, Verizon is the best in the area. Once my contract is up with Nextel, I plan on looking into Verizon myself.

verizon is different from verizon wireless. two somewhat related companies but are managed completely separate. i dunno what the guys are using the bandwidth for, but all i can tell is that i lose connection often on one of the 2 cable lines we had(timed out), and theyre wicked slow to begin with.

oh yea i just found out why theyre taking so long to install my DSL - they werent going to install it at all because they said no one lives at my address????? and that there is only a phone booth there????? i'm really mad now. f*ck them.
