    VENTING: Damn the EU regulations

I'm getting really pissed off! If you look at my avatart, that's my 2005 LE rolla with manual tranny, pic taken on an insurance auction in NJ, just some dents here and there, no air bags deployed no suspension damage. I paid for the car, put it into a big container, put it on even bigger ship, had it transported here to Poland along with a set of parts and even paint to fix it up here and have a nice car to drive. It all took 3 months, the car is ready. It looks like it just rolled out of the factory. And guess what, I can't register it, because it will not pass inspection. Due to European Union laws, the headlights don't fit the standard, and are not legal on the road. Seems that in europe I need to have a-symetrycial headlights meaning that the left one points at a downward angle and does not illuminate the left shoulder and the right one is pointed on slightly higer andgle and illuminates the shoulder, where as in the USA and Canada the headlights just illuminate the entire road evenly. My only hope is to install HIDs, the ones like BMW and Merc have where they can be adjusted to point at certain angles and on top of that they move up and down with the car so they never blind the oncoming traffic... and it costs over $600 to do it here.... fuck the european norms.

in order for the car to be allowed on the road the first inspection has to be made in a government inspection center, every other one can be done at every local repair shop... european headlights got different shape, won't fit without some major bondo work.

But I found a guy on local ebay style site how will convert my headlights to projector style and set them on the right angles... and it will cost me less than half the price. Its worth trying.
