WTF is wrong with people?! As I was leaving the break room, they said that they confirmed 20 people being dead and the unconfirmed amount is 22, including the shooter.

Just by listening to it, it reminded me of Columbine. Thats gotta be a scary situation if you live on campus. Who knows if there's a 2nd shooter or not.

Apparently there were 2 seperate shootings at the VA Tech campus. One happened at about 7am or so and then 2 hours later another. the guy shot and killed about 22 people. several more were injured. 2 in stable condition and another in critical, which I think they said the critical one died at the hospital. The shooter shot himself or someone shot him.

I say it reminded me of columbine cause thats when 2 kids walked into the school and started shooting people like it was nothing.

The world is getting crazier by the day. Now the hard part is to find out why the shooter did this, if they can even find out.

CNN says 31. THATS FUCKEN INSANE!!!

There are tons of people watching this on tv in the student center at CSU. such a sad thing to see happening. i guess the new word is 31 killed and 29 people injured(source Associated Press).

What I would like to know is why didn't the school freeze operations after the first shooting??.....That reminds me of 9/11 at the World Trade Center when they told everyone in the second tower that everything was fine and everyone should return to their offices.....then the second plane hit..

I doubt it....probably school related. Maybe the professor screw them up or school system fu@king up. Professor usually give students hard time......like doing 3 to 5 assignment in a day while you have more work from other courses.

The shooter has been identified:
-Cho Seung-Hui
-23 years old
-Current in his senior year
-English major
-He lived on campus
-He was a lonely, kept to himself person
-In the US as a resident alien (non-citizen)
-Established residency in Centerville, VA
-He had a misdemeanor charge against him in March
-He purchased the 9-mm in March according to a receipt found in his backpack
-His birthdate is Jan 18, 1984
-Came to the United States when he was 8
-His port of entry was in Detroit
-He has an outstanding traffic violation in Montgomery, VA
-He was taking antidepressants
-When found dead, the words "Ismail Ax" was written in red ink on his arm

Supposedly they are looking someone as a "person of interest" (unclear if this student is still a person of interest)(*update: they are no longer looking for this person of interest)
-He is male
-He is 23 years old
-He is a Chinese national
-He came to the United states in June or July of 2006
-Point of entry was at San Francisco
-His visa was issued in Shanghai
-Unclear yet as to whether or not he is a student


*It is interesting to note that foreign exchange students with legal student visa's can NOT purchase a gun legally in the United States.

More details
-Shooter writes and leaves behind a letter/note sometime before the second shooting
-The shooter began his spree at 7:15 a .m. at the dormitory. This is where he shot one girl and the DA for that floor.
-Shooter comes back to his dorm and reloads. He also equipped himself with an additional gun.
-Two hours elapse
-First email sent by the school at around 9:30 a.m.
-He then went into the engineering building and chained up the doors into the building
-The chains were of the same chains found in his dorm building (meaning he didn't purchase them)
-The man was armed with two guns (9-mm and a 22-caliber handgun)
-He proceeded to enter a classroom where he shot the professor at point blank range and then continued to shoot student after student
-He then continued into the next classroom where students had barricaded the door
-The shoot continued into that classroom, where students were reportedly jumping out of the second story classroom window
-The shooter continued to move on to another classroom
-Police on the scene from the first shooting were looking for the shooter after the 7:15 incident
-Same police were alerted to a part of the campus after hearing gunshots
-Police follow the noise to the engineering building and make their way through the chained door
-Once police reached the second floor of the building, the sounds of shots being fired ceased
-Gunman was found dead

Apparently the gunman or the person of interest has either a facebook or a website of some kind but I can't figure out where it is. He i pictured with weapons and has a written something on that site about how he hopes god will forgive him without going into further detail.

eyewitnesses said he went after his girlfriend/ex girlfriend after she left him...and he hit a dorm first, rather than a classroom. please, try to explain that away.

furthermore, one cannot expect college to be easy.

That guy must have good aim to have gotten about 45 people and 33 of them are dead. I'm not an expert on guns, but how many times do you think he reloaded?!

that depends on the size of the clips he had, and how many. he could have come with quite a few already loaded, so he'd just have to pull the empty out and shove a new one in - that takes about a second to do.

A run down on what happened, stories, etc. They also have a list of the people who are confirmed dead. 1 is from Vienna and the other is from Centreville. There were a few professors as well in that list.

Some of the students who were interviewed on the news last night along with parents, were upset at the delay in notifying the students. Angry at the fact that the school was not shut down after the first shootings.

its a huge campus, I'm not sure how locking down the entire campus after the first shootings would have helped because no one know who was the shooter. Plus this kid was able to get places cause he was a student.

According to the President of Norris Hall, they closed the building for the rest of the semester...and classes have been cancelled for the rest of the week...
