I went back to Taiwan last month, and many people with 98~02 did a 97 caliper conversion.

97 Caliper/torque plate are complete bolt on to 98~02.
pads are bigger, and the caliper piston is bigger too.
and plus a Brembo Blank rotor will be real nice.:)
    hope that helps

So 97 brakes are an upgrade to 98-02 brakes? Would any 93-97 caliper/torque plate work?

powerslot makes good slotted rotors, as does rotora. stay away from slotted brembos and slotted apex and shit like that

Interesting. The MR-S shares the 93-02 Corolla's 4x100 bolt pattern. Any chance it's brakes could be swapped into our cars? In any case, Dr. Tweak has a rear disc conversion kit out now and I believe he's working on a front big brake kit.

i don't know about camry, but iknow certain year of camry will do.

basicly, Toyota Exsior and 97 Toyota Corolla will be able to convert to 98~02.

however, Exsior's caliper will need thicker rotor(25mm), and 97 corolla will use 22mm rotor.

if you are able to read on Corolla Fleet's website, do a search, then you will find it out. i discuss this with HOTHBL in Taiwan, when i were back there.

i didn't bought new caliper to convert because i might not keep my car for too long, so i decide not to.

in that case concerns would be where to find replacement pads and discs when time comes. But i'm not sure if there is a toyota here which runs dual piston calipers with a 4X100 lug pattern either.

yeah, you will need to get 97 pads if you did the upgrade,

i have no idea about MR-S, if they acutally fit, that will be an even better upgrade!:)

The MR-S has 2 piston calipers? I have no idea myself. But I do know the rear discs and calipers from the MR2 is interchangable if you do a AE100/111 rear disc conversion.
