Update for my ride

Well I slaved at work today to get as much done as i could on the car. I fixed all fitment issues with the lipkit, repainted it 3 coats Gloss Black and 5 coats poly clear. Painted and installed new grills, and going to do the emblems, door trim and door handles today.

when my black altezza's come in my chrome ones will go up for sale, any takers?

painted the door trim, door handle bezels, corolla lettering and vvti emblem, also installed my shift boot, kinda sucks though it has blue stiching buddy sent the wrong one but i'll keep it anyways it's pretty good quality. also my white hvac panel...lol can't forget that.

because not all people have the money to just go and get everything painted, i like to do the work my self, it's the hobby of modding my car that i enjoy. and to each there own, in the big scheme of things i think it looks good and keeps to the two tone theme i'm trying to create. when it's all said and done it'll be nice, not a show car but a good cross between daily driver and a nice looking rolla.

imho I don't like the color scheme either. That maroon color in the first place isn't that great. It makes it look like a grocery getter; not sporty at all. And all the black makes the car look cheap. And to top it off, the euro taillights scream rice.

I disagree if you prep it right and put the paint evenly then you can get a good result, I just painted my hubcaps this weekend with a rattlecan and they look great.

I think the ones you got look better than the ones you wanted.

Yes its all about the quality of the painting technique but more importantly is which parts are being painted. If the color scheme and layout are poor, it doesn't matter how well it was painted.

not the best way to go. spray painting any body parts usually doesn't look good.

no love loss to everyone... at the end of the day... to each is "still" own... i believe each and every one of us could only do so much if money matters is an issue... not everyone could do a full blast in modding...

i think i got tired of the whole aesthetics thingy and concentrated more on performance...

again, no love loss to anyone...
matt, just keep doing what you love to do...

WTF!? That guy gave you an older version which not worth any $$$. You should ask for exchange!

Which seller are you buying from? I'll avoid him.

    here is the link
just put them on to see what they look like oem are going back on till the problem is resolved. finally got a responce today, just like i thought, he's pleading ignorence to his false advertisment, so i imagine ebay is gonna put heat on him to resolve this problem. but from what i provided is enough to say there different. at least if the proper style isn't in stock he should of sent an email stating it's outta stock and would these ones be alright before shipping, now i'll have to pay more to send them back to cali.

oh here is the day shot i promised.
there not that bad, looks good, completes the look, but just not what i ordered and that is what bothers me.

I think they look better. Why not keep the ones he sent you and demand a discount since their older?

these ones are growing on me there not that bad, but in all honesty do you guys think ebay will force him to do anything about it, with out me having to spend anymore money to ship them back for a replacement. i think i'm stuck with these ones. i am with you guys the chrome ones had to go and i hate the 01 oem ones , well except for vamp's corners and 98 inners. but the black completes the look, you have to admit the car doesn't look that bad.

Its not bad if you were to repaint the car that blue that you wanted. The maroon isn't that pretty.

mine too, hence the black trim instead of getting the car painted, i did it my self, maybe down the road when i can afford it i'll get it done but not any time soon, saving for a downpayment on a new house.
