Upcoming: Phoenix Tuning Stage II Turbo Kits (98-02 Corollas)

This isn't a for sale thread, just an announcement of what's coming.

The Phoenix Tuning Stage II Turbo Kit will include the following:

Garrett T3 Turbo Super 60 compressor, .48 turbine
    Greddy eManage PRE-Programmed
    TurboXS Boost Controller
Phoenix Tuning Turbo Manifold (you must send me your old manifold as a core)
    Spearco intercooler
    TurboXS BOV
Intercooler piping (that will actually fit)
    Water and oil lines
    Downpipe
    Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Oil pan with turbo oil return connection (you must send me your old oil pan as a core)
    Boost guage

That should be everything. Several upgrade items will be available.

The price of the kit will be $3200 shipped. The kit will be good for 8-10 psi and will be a bolt-on kit, meaning you should be able to install it in a day with hand tools. I will provide full instructions. This is the same as the Stage I kit except that it will have piggyback management tuned with a wideband 02, so it will be able to run a little more boost more safely. I don't know exactly how much power this will make, but I'm hoping to push it over the 200hp mark. Premium fuel will be required.

I'm picking up a Corolla to build the prototype on, and then I'll start producing these. It will be a little bit but I'm hoping to have the kits for the '93-'97 kits ready to go for early fall. For the '98-'02 I'm going to have to find a car to do the R&D on so it might be a little longer.

If anyone wants to make a deposit for dibs on the first kits, that will help me get them developed faster and out the door.

definitely interested. will the difference between 98-99 engines and 00-02 engines make for many different parts in the kit?

Not really, basically just the intake charge pipe and the tuning of the eManage.

    its soo pricey though....3200....
I can sell my car and add another 3200 and get a faster car then the rolla will be turbo charged but it won't be as cool though

    Update:

I've been able to work out some deals on the pricing and I'm passing these savings on. The Stage II kits should now cost only $2700!!!

If all goes well I'll be picking up a '93 Corolla to test fit everything on this weekend. Then I just need to put it all together.

If anyone wants dibs on the first kits, I will start taking deposits and that will get them ready much faster. I'm going to kick things into high gear as soon as the Celica 3SGTE swap is done at my shop, after that I'm mostly clear and I think I'm going to take a break from doing swaps in order to get this stuff going.

At least $300, but the more you can deposit the sooner it will be ready.

    thank you god

There is no way i can thank you enough for this. This is what i have been dreaming for and waiting for some company to do for years. If you think you will not have any buyers well you are looken at one. I only need to know a little bit more like what time do you hope to have the stage II kits ready to ship out and what kinda hp are you looken at with the stage II on the 93-97. Do you have any pics, or a website i can look at to see your shop or any pics of the kit would be awsome. Would you think i would have to upgrade my clutch for the stage II kit. O yeah and one more thing i need to locate a cat back exhaust for my car. I have a 97 rolla 5 speed and a 7 a-fe engine. And sorry but one more question:what kinda BOV does the stage II come with. I am a big fan of the hks ssqv and if you could special make a kit or something you will be paid back for in return gladly!

Thanks for the positive comments. I have a 4AFE test vehicle right now so I am ready to start prototyping the kits, but I have so many swaps scheduled that I need to make a hole to work on the turbo kits. I have taken most of the month of Sept for this hopefully. Feel free to email me at drtweak@phoenixtuning.com

Ok, I'll bite. What kind of guarantee do we have if we drop a deposit down? I mean, I'd be pissed if I deposited $500 and it faltered, or I got such low gains that I wasted my hard earned $2700 ($2550) for only a few ponies.

Also, do you have a test vehicle for the 1zz-fe kit?
    Front mount intercooler?
And with the e-manage system, I'll need a laptop right? If so with what features. Thanks. It's either this or buying another Starion.

If you aren't happy with the performance of the kit, you can return it for a full refund. I garantee that you will be though :) Yes, the kit will include a front mount intercooler. I will program the eManage here so it will be all set to go, if you wish to alter the program then you can do some of it with the stock system, and the rest of the features need a laptop interface. Just any windows 95 or better laptop will do.

I have been offered two 1ZZ test cars, but it's always good to have another option if they fall though. Feel free to contact me by email drtweak@phoenixtuning.com

Sounds good. I will email you within the next few days with a couple more questions, and I will see (chances look real good right now) that I will be putting some money up to help with the funding of the kit. Right now I have to finish up my bearings so I can drive my Corolla again.

    Sorry! More questions:

Would higher flow fuel injectors be needed or will it be fine just with the stand alone eManage set up?

Will it change the location of the ehaust and require new piping or would it keep all the piping in the same spot? I want to upgrade my exhaust system but see no point in doing it twice. I don't forsee it keeping the piping in the same spot though.

the only part that really changes with respect to exhaust is the exhaust manifold (or header) which turns into a turbo manifold, which just has a flange for one to mount the turbo on. the rest of the piping is teh same.

It depends on how the computer reacts to the eManage, it's quite possible that larger injectors will be needed but I'm not sure yet. As for the exhaust, what James said.

So the length of the manifold will not change, you'll just be welding into the manifold toward the top to mount the turbo to? Just wanting to double check everything first.

The manifold will be different, but the bottom line is that it will hook up to the stock exhaust in about the same location.
